Host an Event

  • Participating organizations pick where to host their Exchange Day event(s). For in person events, we recommend organizations host events where they have a significant number of exchange participants. For both in person and online events, we encourage collaboration with other organizations and community stakeholders.
  • Once the location and time of the event has been decided, organizations should submit the details to the Alliance through this form. We highly encourage you to submit events no later than Monday, July 29 to ensure your event is shared on the website.
  • We encourage organizations to create Exchange Day materials for their event(s) and participants. If doing so, note that participating organizations are responsible for ordering and purchasing Exchange Day T-shirts (for example) for participants attending their events, as well as using the Exchange Day brand. Check out the Exchange Day Style Guide for more information.
  • Organizations should engage elected officials, their staff, and media personnel in their Exchange Day event. Use the Sample Press Release from our Resources page to get the word out.
  • Get Active on Social Media with our Exchange Day countdown materials, sample posts, tweets, and hashtags to promote participation in your community before August 5. Check out our Social Media Guidelines and Countdown Materials on our Resources page for more information.
